Rebuilding the Lose It! design system to scale with the product

Rebuilding the Lose It! design system to scale with the product

The Problem

A system that couldn't keep up with the product

Components had drifted for years. Colors, spacing, and type ran on inconsistent tokens, so every feature meant rebuilding from scratch. When Apple introduced Liquid Glass, there was no foundation to adapt from.

The Solution

A token-first system built to flex with any theme

I audited every component in production, keeping only what the app used, then rebuilt on a primitive to semantic token architecture. Any theme now applies cleanly app-wide, and new ones ship without touching a line of code.

Lose It! Themes: designing premium personalization for daily use

Lose It! Themes: designing premium personalization for daily use

The Problem

Premium personalization was easy to sell, hard to trust

With dozens of paid themes shipping one at a time, nothing tied them together. Contrast, legibility, and cultural nuance depended on whoever happened to build that theme, so quality swung wildly from one to the next. Customers browsing the selector saw a plain list, not something that felt worth paying for.

The Solution

A shared standard behind every theme, and a shopfront to show it off

I set contrast and representation requirements every theme has to clear before release, replaced guesswork with actual cultural research, and turned the selector into a browsing experience that matches what customers are buying. Twenty-eight themes now read as one coherent product, not two dozen separate bets.

Designing an AI Travel App That Boosted Usability by 65%

Designing an AI Travel App That Boosted Usability by 65%

The Problem

Planning a trip shouldn't feel like a second job.

Travelers juggle dozens of tabs, miss hidden gems, and second-guess every decision. The research is overwhelming, the timing is unclear, and most apps dump everything on one screen without any real guidance.

Users felt rushed, underprepared, and like they were wasting money on trips that fell short.

The Solution

An AI travel app that plans with you, not for you.

I designed a flow that takes five inputs and generates a personalized itinerary — with curated activities, a map view, and real-time updates baked in. No information overload, just a clear plan that matches how you actually want to travel.

After two rounds of testing and iteration, task completion rose from 67% to 80% and the usability score jumped from 40% to 66%.
